About CodeNest

Helping Students Become Confident Creators of Technology

CodeNest is run by two tutors who combine coding, robotics, and project-based teaching to help primary school students understand technology by building it.

Our Story

Why We Started CodeNest

Technology is becoming part of every industry and every part of society. At CodeNest, we believe every student — regardless of gender or background — deserves the chance to understand programming further, because programming is not only a valuable skill but also a way to think critically and creatively.

We started CodeNest to make programming, robotics, and AI feel approachable for primary school students. Through hands-on projects, students build games, program robots, and learn to solve meaningful challenges with confidence.

Our lessons are designed to feel fun and supportive while still developing serious thinking skills: decomposition, logic, debugging, creativity, communication, and resilience.

Why Coding Matters Today

Preparing Students for a Technology-Driven Future

Technology Is Everywhere

Students are growing up in a world shaped by technology. Learning how it works helps them become creators, not just consumers.

Problem Solving for Life

Coding teaches students to break down challenges, think logically, test ideas, and improve their solutions step by step.

Future-Ready Skills

Programming builds creativity, resilience, communication, and analytical thinking that extend far beyond technology lessons.

Mission & Vision

What Guides Us

Our Mission

To make coding education fun, accessible, and inclusive so every child can build confidence through real programming, robotics, and AI projects.

Our Vision

A future where students of all backgrounds see technology as something they can create, question, and shape — not just consume.

Our Promise

We keep lessons supportive, beginner-friendly, and practical, with clear progress parents can see.

Our Values

What We Believe

Fun Learning

Fun Learning

Students learn best when they are curious, engaged, and excited to test their ideas.

Creativity

Creativity

We encourage students to turn their imagination into games, robot behaviours, and digital projects.

Future Skills

Future Skills

We build logical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence that support school and beyond.

Meet Your Instructors

Guiding Students Beyond Coding

At CodeNest, our instructors believe coding is more than learning a programming language. It is a way for students to develop logical thinking, creativity, resilience, and confidence through building real projects.

Co-Founder

Shan Yuan

Coding, Robotics & AI Instructor

As a graduate with a computing background and an MOE-registered instructor, Shan Yuan is passionate about helping young learners understand technology through structured, hands-on learning experiences. He specialises in making complex concepts accessible and engaging, guiding students through coding, robotics, and AI projects that develop computational thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Drawing on his teaching experience, Shan creates a supportive environment where students are encouraged to explore ideas, learn from mistakes, and build the confidence to tackle challenges independently.

Areas of Expertise

  • Programming and computational thinking
  • Educational robotics and project-based learning
  • Technology and AI concepts for young learners
  • Building confidence through structured challenges
Teaching Philosophy

Every child can learn to code when concepts are broken into manageable steps and connected to meaningful projects.

How This Helps Your Child

Course Expertise That Connects Directly to Student Outcomes

Programming Foundations

We teach loops, conditionals, variables, events, functions, and logic through projects students can build and understand.

Robotics Application

Students learn how code controls real robots through movement, sensors, testing, debugging, and challenge-based tasks.

Introductory AI Projects

AI concepts are introduced in an age-appropriate way so students can explore modern technology safely and curiously.

Computational Thinking

Students learn to break problems into smaller steps, identify patterns, simplify ideas, and design clear solutions.

Why Parents Choose Us

A Supportive Pathway for Beginners

Step-by-Step Structure

No coding experience needed. Students progress through guided projects with clear learning outcomes.

Hands-On Projects

Children learn by building, testing, debugging, and improving real games and robot behaviours.

Confidence First

We create a safe environment where mistakes become learning moments, not reasons to give up.
